As we are central to both the C2C and End to End routes, we are used to seeing emergency breakdowns with customers keen to get back on route within the hour and as such, are happy to oblige.
For non emergency customers, we will schedule repairs to be carried out in order to limit disruption. If we haven’t got the repair sorted within 48hours, we have a good selection of demo bikes to lend.
Phil is head of Service Centre and is well qualified to deal with any mechanical query. He has a First Class Mechanical Engineering degree and the highest cycle specific qualification going but equally important, over 8 years hands on experience in our Service Centre.
Mark has been working in our Service Centre since early 2009 but is no stranger to the tools, having gained 12 years experience in cycle repairs. He is qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Cycle Mechanics and his specialities include custom bike builds and road bike repairs. Mark has ridden in a number of road races, mostly amateur but he also took part in some Pro/Am races such as the 1990 Saltburn GP while riding full time for the Dunlopillo team.
Rich joined the team in Spring 2010 as a fully qualified Cytech mechanic. His specialities include building up and maintaining time trail and road cycles. An active Border City Wheeler, he has gained some impressive accolades including breaking 2 hours on a 50 mile course - 1hr 57!
With Shimano Service Centre accreditation, we have a full stock of mechanical items as well as Campagnolo, FSA, SRAM and other leading components. Phil can build wheels to any specification.
